Elementary Curriculum overview

Applying the California Common Core State Standards for English & Math and Next Generation Science Standards for Science, the curriculum at our primary school is designed to enhance student’s abilities in core subjects and help them become articulate and well-rounded throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond. We have state-of-the-art classrooms, providing our children with a learning environment that allows them to explore their full potential.

As a top American school in Ajman, our program adopts a multitude of resources to ensure key standard are accessible for all types of learners. Through teaching, learning and innovation, we intend for students to develop multiple literacies that support quality learning, personal growth, problem-solving, and future-readiness for holistic development.

City American School, one of the leading elementary schools in Ajman, offers English, Math, Sciences, Social Sciences, Physical Education, Art, Language, and Music.

Arabic, Islamic Education, and Social Studies follow the Ministry of Education curriculum.

English is the language of instructions in all subjects.��

Phonics: phonics reading helps students, particularly ESL learners, associate the sounds of the letters in the words they study to improve their reading skills. In the academic year 2020-21, ������ý will embark on a journey to provide education from KG 1 to Grade 5. The following year, ������ý will introduce higher grade levels.��

ESL students (English as a Second Language)

1. Literacy Program at our English private school will be available to accelerate students’ English language skills in reading and writing.

2. Response to intervention RTI: it is an approach to identify students with learning and behavior needs. The RTI process starts with high-quality instruction and screening of all students.

Arabic Language and Islamic studies are obligatory courses for all Arab Students.��

Arabic B for non- Arabic nationality students:

Arabic Subject as a Second Language follows the MOE curriculum

Islamic Studies in English follows the MOE curriculum

Social Studies in English follows the MOE curriculum

������ý “Inclusion Department”:

At ������ý, we have an Inclusion Department with qualified coordinator and a team of primary school teachers to support students with learning difficulties. During the entrance examinations, a thorough brief will be provided to the concerned parents. This contributes to placing us amongst one of the most reliable elementary American schools in Ajman.

French Language is available from grade one to grade five.��

In addition to this, we have a balance of internal and external assessments. ������ý is committed to achieving the UAE Vision 2021 – National Agenda Parameters, and as such, participates in the following external assessments:
